Safeton, Coldeven 26 (Waterday), 585, 10 am.

The group woke to a plan, talk to Lady Bav and get permission to investigate the Duzursk Family tomb. It was recently discovered by accident.

  • One of her friends, another Noble Family, recently was informed that an ancient crypt of theirs was discovered. They would like the place investigated and cleaned out… they already sent in servants that never returned. This crypt is deep within the Crypts of the Ruby Sorceress.  They are paying 100 gp per adventurer. The Family is not mentioned.

The party returned to enjoy the grandeur and creepiness of the temple of the Ruby Sorceress. They met a young human male named Pip, those that went to the school know him. He is 14 years of age and grew up in the temple. He is an orphan that seems to have the spark of magic so the school took him on. He had a note giving the group permission to go to the locked halls deep within the bowels of the temple. He leads the group through the complex tunnels to the final locations. Vifil has a clear recollection of how to return from the tomb entrance.

The group slowly investigates the entrance, finds no traps, the large granite doors are held in place by a large block of wood, once removed the door sagged open. Before they are a nearly perfect set of steps, they showed no wear from use or time, but they did show to be recently cleaned. At the bottom of the 4-metre flight is a new straw broom settled in a pool of dried blood (rough guess puts it over a week). The place looks to be falling apart. Debre of stone and stucco were scattered across the floor.

At the bottom of the stairs is a T, to the east is a door, to the west a hall that leaves to a larger area. The larger area looks like a Hall of Worship, to the north is an alcove with a clearly shattered statue. To the south of this area is a wide hall with more alcoves. The door to the east carried the sounds of anger, and hunger, something was trying to break it down.

The party fought several zombies (6), and skeleton warriors (2). The liberal use of Shatter and Thunder Wave started to redesign the interior of the tomb. Before the zombies could break through the door, Maximillian’s Earthen Grasp was cast to hold the zombies at bay. The group’s heavy use of spells quickly dispatched the undead, although there was a ghoul ranging around inside a southern room they could not see due to the floor being much lower (3 metres).

When the group broke for the night:

  • Vifil was standing guard, facing the south large room with the ghoul. Mechanically he is Triggering, waiting for a target. 
  • Udrif was hidden with a Steal of 17.
  • Thabuli had a spell active (Maximillian’s Earthen Grasp) and still had 5 rounds before the spell expired.
  • Vohilga and Pharum were moving into positions to support the group. 
    • Pharum gave Vonhilga a Bardic Inspiration (Pink).
    • Vonhilga gave Thabuli a Bardic Inspiration (Red).
  • Storyteller gave each player a GM Inspiration for hilarity.
