Safeton, Planting 8 (Starday), 585
The group left the logging head office after slaughtering the goblin interlopers. They headed southwest for the abandoned keep. They lucked out and managed to avoid any hungry or curious creatures for their nightly camps.
Safeton, Planting 8 (Starday), 585
The group wondered, following their ranger, till they came to a large clearing with a pond, orcs created a semi-circle around the small island in the middle of the pond. An orc priest kept yelling at the other orcs, and on the island, a female’s musical voice could be heard demanding to be left alone. The group worked out there was a female that the orcs wanted to eat or sacrifice. Several human bodies were scattered across the clearing.
The party engaged and after several minutes managed to put down the orc threat.
The female turned out to be a Nymph named Oread at been in this clearing for some years, the locals had tried to protect her from the orcs, only getting themselves slaughtered in the end. Oread did not seem all that concerned about the humans that had given their lives but did offer for the party to stay in her clearing for the night. There were hints of other enticements. After a discussion, the group chose to move on.
Safeton, Planting 9 (Sunday), 585
The group travelled for the day and found a good location for camp. Again they avoided notice and managed to have a good night’s rest. The next day they were only a few hours away from the Old Ford. The group travelled and noted goblin tracks and attempts at primitive farming. Up in the distance, they saw the old fort. It was in horrible shape, with decent perception rolls people noted goblins moving around, working and basically living lives. It looks like the goblins had settled in.
There was a maintained moat around the entire keep and a bridge. The moat had moving water, and the bridge was in surprisingly good shape, although weathered. The group sent the rat to explore which got them to the goblin smithy. They ended up killing one of the smiths, and as the second came out, Vonhilga charged the little chap. It failed by over 7. It was quite taken with Vonhilga.
The group investigated the smithy and found the correct tools, but most looked to have been ill-gotten-gain. The group did find a very well-made dwarven battle axe. They talked the charmed goblin (named Vagger) into visiting the Boss. He came back with a Qizzel, who claimed to be the sister of the boss, named Old Man Whiskem.
Qizzel was detained and intimidated (26!) and was immediately quelled by the group. She took the group to see the Goblin Boss.
Old Man Whiskem turned out to be a very old goblin, stooped with age and wounds, he need a cane to walk. The party rolled an excellent Persuasion and convinced the old goblin that he and his small tribe must leave, and gave them 6 days. The goblin could barely muster a defence against the powerful roll the party did.
The group asked about items and goods, and the goblins shared what they had. While not wealthy in the traditional sense, they did have several chain suits as well as other goods.
The group was going to wait if out, giving the goblins a few days, and the goblins were going to start packing. That is where the game left off.
